The Society
Kerala Sr. Secondary School, Vikaspuri, New Delhi is functioning under the aegis of Kerala Education Society, New Delhi.
More than six decades back, eminent personalities like the first Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri EMS Namboothirippadu and the then opposition leader of Indian Parliament, Sri AK Gopalan (AKG) took initiative to form Kerala Education Society, Delhi.
The Kerala Education Society was registered in July 1958 under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860. The objective of the society shall be inter-alia to provide facilities for education of children in the whole of National Capital Territory of Delhi by starting suitable institutions and to promote study of Malayalam. The Society’s apex body is managed by highly educated and eminent personalities. The society presently runs four schools at Shrimant Madhav Rao Sindia Marg (Canning Road), Vikaspuri, R.K. Puram and Mayur Vihar Phase III.
The School
Kerala Senior Secondary School, Vikaspuri, was started in 1975 as a primary school with less than 10 students on a very humble footing in a rented building at Janakpuri by Kerala Association, Janakpuri and later on affiliated to Kerala Education Society (Regd.), Delhi. As a linguistic minority school, its objective was to impart quality education to the wards of Keralites working in NCT, Delhi and promote the language, art and culture of Kerala. Since its inception, the school has been achieving tremendous progress both in curricular and co-curricular activities. With the blessings and help of parents and well-wishers, this institution has now become a full – fledged senior secondary school, affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and aided by the Govt. of Delhi, having strength of more than 1500 students from nursery to 12th standard and provides top notch education to all students impartially.
